Description
Medical compression sleeve ( without glove) – a modern and effective tool for the prevention and treatment of lymphatic swelling in the upper extremities. The use of a compression sleeve ensures “”squeezing”” of the interstitial fluid from the soft tissues back into the vascular bed, accelerates the venous blood flow to the heart, thanks to the graded pressure (compression) of 23-32 mmHg on the soft tissues and the walls of the hand veins.Indications for use – Primary lymphedema • Congenital anomalies of development of the lymphatic system (Nona-Milroy-May syndrome, juvenile lymphedema, etc.). Secondary lymphedema • Condition after mastectomy and radiation therapy. • The condition after injuries, operations and burns with damage to lymphatic vessels. • Complication after erysipelas inflammation in dermis and subcutaneous tissues. • Complication in the case of long-term limitation of limb movements after plaster immobilization, paresis and plegia. • Thrombophlebitis in shoulder and forearm veins (including post-injection complications). ATTENTION! The selection of the necessary compression knitted products should be made under the supervision of the attending physician, based on the specific pathology and anatomical features of the patient.
Contraindications and precautions: The compression sleeve should be used with the permission of the attending physician in the following cases: dermatitis of various origins, blood circulation disorders of the hand arteries (endarteritis, atherosclerosis, diabetes), moisturizing eczema, acute soft tissue infection in the hand, infected trophic ulcers, metabolic swellings, heart and pulmonary insufficiency in the stage of decompensation. Putting on a compression sleeve: It is best to put on compression products in the morning before possible swelling. The hand should be dry, preferably slightly smeared with talcum powder. When putting on the compression product for the first time, it is recommended to use rubber gloves, which make it easier to put on and take off the compression product. With some experience, the compression jersey can be put on without gloves.
ATTENTION! The mode of use of the compression sleeve in accordance with the recommendations of the attending physician. • The sleeve should be pulled evenly across the arm to ensure proper pressure distribution. • Folds must be smoothed to avoid friction and skin irritation. • Do not roll the edges of the sleeve: this can create an elastic choke effect, which will cause lymph and venous blood to pool under the area where the sleeve is taut. • The sleeve of a correctly selected product should fit the body, but should not interfere with blood circulation in the hand and cause painful sensations. • A sleeve that is loosely put on the arm does not provide a therapeutic effect. If you feel pain, swelling, numbness or discoloration of your hands while wearing them, you should consult your doctor. Important: Long nails, rings, and bracelets can damage the compression product, so jewelry should be removed from hands before putting on or taking off. Do not pull or cut any threads inside the product. Preservation of medical properties of the compression product is guaranteed by following the instructions.Removing the compression sleeve: Remove all jewelry from your hands. Take the product by the top edge and pull it down towards the palm. Remove the product from the thumb first, then remove it from the palm. After removing the sleeve, wash the skin along the entire length of the arm and, if possible, apply moisturizer or baby powder.
